River Jhelum

The Jhelum River, known as Vyeth in Kashmiri, Vetasta in Sanskrit, and Hydaspes in Greek, is the main waterway of the Kashmir Valley. It originates from the magnificent spring at Verinag, located in the Pir Panjal mountains, an offshoot of the Himalayas.
